ABOUT
It all started in 2015, in Porto, by getting the tech community together to create interesting technological solutions and ignite a co-creation mindset. In 2016 we challenged cities all over the world, with the support of OASC initiative (Open and Agile Smart Cities) to work together as a first attempt to implement an integrated approach of the use of data for the creation of innovative city solutions. This year we will offer a new challenge, with details soon to be revealed.
Technology
The FIWARE Platform provides a rather simple yet powerful set of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that ease the development of Smart Applications in multiple vertical sectors, whose specifications are public and royalty-free. Besides not costing money when acquired, these software modules and components are quicker to adapt to changes in the marketplace and allow the developers to use the same pieces of technology in their software architecture while designing and implementing for different domains.
